Strange Attractors was produced to mark the occasion of an exhibition of new work by Sligo based artist Ronnie Hughes. His work is distinguished by a unique, and at times conflicting stylistic pallette. At times mechanical shapes – such as grids, mosaics and fractals – are created and layered upon organic and fluid forms. These complex surfaces reveal various material qualities, as each layer's colour breaks through the masks and shapes within the work.

The book's design is based on extracted forms and colours taken from selected works. Shapes from the original paintings are traced, layered and masked to create new but complementary graphic forms that punctuate the interior. The book is printed in CMYK with two custom fluo-mixes for the cover and interior. It is finished with a foil stamp on cover; case bound – the 3mm boards are cut flush on the head and fore edge.
