Image Now invited Bureau Bonanza to contribute to their Sound+Vision exhibition, which was part of the 2018 Dublin Bowie Festival. The exhibition consisted of 25 typographic prints by 25 designers, each inspired by one of Bowie's 25 studio albums. We were tasked with reimagining Bowie's final album, ★. Released on his birthday, just two days prior to his death, the album was Bowie’s farewell to the earth.

Through the medium of type, we illustrated a black star. The main paragraphs featured are taken from the novel The Man Who Fell to Earth. The novel served as the basis for the 1976 film by Nicolas Roeg, in which Bowie starred as a humanoid alien, a man that's not quite a man but otherworldly. These are surrounded by much of Bowie’s vast creative output—everything he did, things he said, every incarnation of him—set in rings of type in motion, returning to the black star from whence he came.
