Acushla is a food trailer at the foot of Croagh Patrick serving wholesome, creative food to locals and travellers alike.
Ciara and Adara have created an incredibly welcoming place that feels true to who they are, with a strong sense of where it sits. Our aim was to create a brand that matched that feeling. To do this we looked at the name (Acushla), what it meant (my love), to them and to everyone who visits. The space is honest, warm, and friendly. People fresh off a hike tend to linger for a chat, and locals often gather when theres not much else to do.
We needed something honest, true to place, and not to evasive of the landscape.
We looked at the landscape and wondered how we would catch peoples eye when passing by. Ireland has never been afraid of colour, and its usually used as a protest from the dull often dreary landscape. Flowers do it, popping up in bright yellow, pinks and blues, to stand out for punters against the brown and green. Traditional pubs and shops do it in contrast to the concrete streets. From this, we developed a colourful palette, all grounded in a rich brown.
Our visual language had to be true to the brand, honest, transparent, proudly irish. We paired a Celtic-type font with an editorial style layout, creating a clean and recognisable brand with plenty of character.
