AGI Special Project

“ĐÂY” (Vietnamese for “here now”) was the theme for the 2025 AGI Congress and AGI Open in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. Members were invited to respond to the theme and create a wrapper for the premium chocolate brand MAROU.

In response to the theme, I riffed on the anthemic Fatboy Slim track “Right Here, Right Now” and, at precisely 17.49hrs on October 24th, 2025, captured all personal data immediately available to me and produced a typographic/numeric response just ahead of the submission deadline. Using non-typical units of measurement, the data is somewhat cryptic but still decipherable. The principal typeface was Die Grotesk by KLIM, and the wrapper was printed in a single colour – Metallic Gold – and finished with a black label/closure.

Each design was wrapped around an 80-gram custom-flavoured (Osmanthus Flower) Dark Chocolate bar. The designs were also presented as flat artwork in an exhibition as multiples, and the wrapped bars formed a unique collection, exhibited during the AGI Congress in Ho Chi Minh City and made available as a limited-edition box set.
