Almha

Almha McCartan is an artist, designer and facilitator from Ireland based in London. Her work moves across textiles, collage, sculpture and painting. She works predominantly with linen, second-hand fabrics and reclaimed wood offcuts. Through an expressive use of colour, pattern and intuitive experimentation with materials, Almha’s work uses traditional craft processes in a contemporary and innovative way.

We designed a logo and website for Almha that evoke hand-craftedness, colour-blocking and layering, traits present in her own work. The blockiness of her logo is rooted in her collage aesthetic, creating a mark that could only be hers. Her logo can be stamped on labels and fabric in a signature colour while it animates on hover on her website, referring to her work’s playful use of colour.
