In 2022 we continued our collaboration with AMBER — who bring together Ireland’s leading material science researchers working across the disciplines of Physics, Chemistry, Bioengineering and Medicine; with an international network of collaborators and companies. It supports advanced manufacturing in the ICT, medical device and industrial technology sectors.

We worked closely with Amber to develop a new website to showcase the research centre's groundbreaking work and to empower the inhouse team to publish rich content with ease. During the discovery phase of the project we identified 4 key content pillars: Research, Industry collaboration, Educational engagement and Scientific outcomes. We structured the website architecture around these sections, supported by further informational sections.

In order to manage the site's dense content effectively we developed a system of interrelate-able content objects allowing the Amber team to quickly associate related content such as researchers with their corresponding research articles or news items with research themes. These content associations contribute to rich user journeys throughout the site.

Each page can be composed of a series of predefined layout block from our custom developed page builder. Included in the page builder is an extensive suite of bespoke Amber icons which can be deployed at any point on the site. The website is illustrated with commissioned photography from Amber research locations across the country.
