Design Challenge
Biasol’s brief presented us with a real challenge: how do we brand and market their highly innovative product into a very busy healthy cereals space, with a USP that focusses on innovation and health, but not the taste experience.
‘Upcycling spent brewers grain’ is admirable but how does that translate to taste? To an engaging brand experience?
Our approach
Through client consultation and market research, we identified an opportunity to position Biasol with differentiation. To bring to life the concept “Happy you Happy Planet” with a strong environmental undertone, using bold design and simple supportive messaging.
‘Happy’ had existed simply as a marketing idea, now it was extended to “Happy you Happy Planet” as the core brand idea. Bringing the brand character to the fore, underpinned by strong environmental credentials and messaging.
Simplicity of approach was important to gain cut through so we developed a unique tone of voice through strong imagery, bold colour and a simple messaging style.
The pack fronts featured the two founders Niamh and Ruairi, rendered in an characterful / playful way, with a big open mouth as if eating the cereal
The typography echoes the playful style and works in stark contrast to their competition who often reference heritage as a brand position.
