‘We always look forward because there is no point hoping for a better past. What have we in our creative gene is manifest in these musicians who raise their voices to sing, to give us a sense of who we are. They give us the energy to negotiate the pathways to a more human future. Our job is to get out of their way and let them do just that.’ Philip King
To celebrate the twentieth anniversary of the seminal music festival, Collapsing Distance is a visual record and reflection on the cultural impact of Other Voices. Curated and co-edited by Other Voices photographer Rich Gilligan ‘OV20’ features a selection of live stills and portraits of the musicians and artists who made the annual pilgrimage to St James’ Church in Dingle over the past two decades.
Printed in 5 Colours on a natural white book wove and quarter bound with coarse-natural linen, the book’s large format (240mm x 310mm) allows for the generous presentation of these intimate and original portraits throughout its 136pp.
