The Contemporary Art Gallery Association represents private art galleries in Ireland that are committed to the exhibition of contemporary visual art. When considering the formation of their identity, they asked us to be mindful of their audience and their need to represent a growing number of members.
Simplicity and integrity were the primary pillars used to steer the direction of the brand. The identity symbol, which morphs on digital assets, is easily adaptable and can embody the growing members of the organisation. We chose a sophisticated colour palette that would complement the imagery of represented artists’ work online and on social media. The typographic mark responds to its frame, hugging the boundaries of the phone screen, desktop or printed asset, which mimics the containment of art within a gallery space.
