The Arts Council launched a new Creative Places Ireland pilot programme, the first of its kind in the country, which recognises and addresses gaps in the spatial and demographic distribution of Arts Council funding. It is developed for communities around the country that have not had opportunities to benefit from sustained investment in the arts.

An overarching identity and graphic language system was formed using elements from Irish topography and weather maps which depict locations in a very abstract and generic way. This included a logo which could be adapted to include both Irish and English translations and local place names in both languages. This visual system is used across all touchpoints including notebooks, button badges, bunting and display stands to promote and engage with arts communities across the country, starting with Tuam, Co. Galway.
