DCU has a strong presence in the innovation space, with multiple offerings serving different audiences. Driven by the university's 'Transformation For An Unscripted Future' 5-year strategy, DCU came to us sensing an opportunity: to amplify their impact on Ireland's innovation ecosystem by bringing together their separate offerings under one strategic umbrella. A single platform and brand connecting different audiences with innovation and impact at DCU.

We began by mapping the different user groups to understand their needs and identifying the information most relevant and useful to them: businesses, researchers, students and entrepreneurs. This informed our IA and navigation strategy, creating two clear entry points into the platform, allowing users to quickly self-identify and find the pathways most relevant to their goals. We designed a flexible, modular UI system that could accommodate diverse content types while maintaining visual cohesion across the experience. Clear wayfinding, intuitive user flows, and streamlined content hierarchy ensured frictionless navigation, no matter the audience.

The website was designed and built using digital sustainability best practice, reducing scripts, optimising assets, and employing a content strategy that relied on SVGs over photography and video to minimise environmental impact without compromising visual quality.

The result is a destination for innovation impact. DCU Innovate delivers success stories on an ongoing basis, and our aim was to surface these through a dynamic case study library and an active news portal for sharing updates. We introduced dedicated sections to elevate thought leadership and spotlight events, positioning DCU as a convener and catalyst in Ireland's innovation ecosystem. The digital platform brings clarity, energy, and accessibility to DCU's innovation offering—making it easier than ever for the right people to connect with the right opportunities.
