Deep Time

Deep Time is a nonconforming, collective research project led by artist Bridget O’Gorman and producers Iarlaith Ní Fheorais and Hannah Wallis. Invoking the notion of cosmic time amassed through geological formation, the project seeks to prompt new dialogues around how we contextualise time and its relationship to creative productivity. It is supported by EVA International, The Arts Council / An Chomhairle Ealaíon and field:arts.

The visual identity subverts the graphic language of categorisation and labelling in geological science by referencing natural forms of time through animated, abstract and hand-drawn symbols. Social media assets featured indented typography to echo the concept of time as the 'movement of materials'. The earthy colours were chosen to connect the project to a sense of nature. In addition to a podcast section, the website features six micro-commissions by various artists that were built with custom audio players, typographic considerations and integrated transcripts.
