This poster was designed for the 2025 lecture series Digital Tools for Textile Art Education from the Textile Programme at Die Angewandte, University of Applied Arts Vienna. The typographic approach draws directly from Bible – Des Lettres au Point Croix by Valérie Lejeune, a compilation of cross-stitch letter patterns traditionally used in embroidery.

The design reflects the programme’s core concern: that emerging technologies are not a break from craft traditions, but a continuation of them. Limited to black ink on white paper, the poster could be produced in-house using the textile department’s large-scale pattern plotters, embedding the making process within the educational context itself.

Students were invited to physically interact with the posters by adding stitching, further extending the dialogue between digital design and handcraft. When changes to the lecture schedule became necessary, students applied arrow stickers to indicate the updated order, avoiding the need for reprinting. This collaborative intervention fostered a sense of ownership and agency, allowing the poster to evolve through use.
