Divergently Together was conceived as a considerate and purposeful digital space – one that supports connection, reflection and collective action. Designed to centre neurodivergent experiences, the website provides a calm foundation for community-building around neurodivergence and climate action. The visual language is mindful of over-stimulation, it softens hard edges and favours easy colours, simple forms and open space to create an environment that feels empathetic, welcoming and easy to navigate.

Form and function were inextricably intertwined throughout the design and development process and the user’s individual experience of the site was prioritised. A comprehensive accessibility menu was created that allows visitors to shape the site around their own needs. Rather than prescribing a single way of engaging, the platform empowers users to create a custom experience, giving them control over sensory output, visual clarity and interaction. This flexibility supports comfort, focus and autonomy, reinforcing the site’s commitment to inclusive design.

The Divergently Together project leads workshops to co-design creative responses to the climate emergency. As its digital resource, the website needs to document past projects, events and initiatives while also offering tools, information and materials for neurodivergent people and those working alongside them. Clear visual cues and readable typography were carefully incorporated site-wide.

Alongside the digital work, we sensitively refined the existing identity, clarifying the typography and outlining the wordmark to improve legibility and cohesion without altering the organisation’s established character. More than a record of work, the website now acts as a shared point of reference for a diverse network, from community members and collaborators to healthcare professionals, artists, researchers and stakeholders. By creating a space that encourages participation without pressure, the platform reflects Divergently Together’s commitment to thoughtful, inclusive approaches to both social and environmental action.
