Dubai World Cup

The populous city of Dubai has become synonymous with extravagant and innovative architecture. Having attracted world attention through these large construction projects and major sporting events, not least the Dubai World Cup, the city continues to emerge as a next generation global playground. In Arabic, Meydan is suggested to mean a place where people congregate and compete. The new design visually explores these senses and emerging themes.

The design conveys a distorted perspective to the on-screen assets. A multifaceted approach has been employed to animate on and off all graphic templates. In a competitive market place, the new look explores the use of colour and shape in an effort to capture the audiences imagination, while conveying a bespoke and unique presence. All graphics were designed and animated using Adobe After Effects; then built and connected using a LIVE character generator called the 'Aston3D by Brainstorm'. Each of the 60 plus graphic templates included modular functionality and a distinct on-screen aesthetic for the world feed.
