Ennis is a historic town in Clare, situated on the banks of the River Fergus. It is a destination for natives and tourists alike, with streets that exhibit a mélange of historic and contemporary Ireland. We created a brand identity and website that could act as a conduit for the stories, traditions and unique character of the town.
Each letter of the logo represents a key feature of the town that makes it unique. The swirly ‘e’ for the shape of the River Fergus, the two arched ‘n’s for the winding laneways, and the dynamic ‘is’ ligature for the crashing coastal waves that have made Ennis the perfect base for those exploring Clare’s epic coast.
The anatomy of the logotype is imbued with celticism though rendered in a contemporary manner. The geometry of these details are utilised in conjunction with a wide and bright colour palette to create a series of varied yet recognisable application pieces.
The tagline Everybody Loves Ennis has a special meaning. The River Fergus wraps around Ennis to define the heart shape of this island town. The locals care about their town and they love culture. Ennis is a friendly town with a beating heart for traditional music which gives Ennis its own unique rhythm.
