As part of The Liberties Festival 2025, artist Erin Quinn presented Holding Space; Scent of The Liberties. This immersive experience invited visitors to step into a space containing a custom scent created by the artist and inspired by scent stories from The Liberties. Visitors received a ceramic pebble takeaway infused with the custom scent.

We designed a series of promotional materials to advertise the event. Using the shape of the pebble as a starting point, the designs illustrate the coming together of various ingredients that make up the 'Scent of The Liberties.' As scent is a unique sensory experience for everyone, a series of hand-drawn shapes present different interpretations of the pebble form.

The typeface Cardone Thin is used to set the event title, Holding Space, reflecting the light and delicate nature of the scent developed for the project. Throughout the promotional materials, a dynamic and playful use of typography, colour, and shape speaks to the wide audience—young and old—who were encouraged to visit Holding Space.

A series of posters were displayed throughout the Dublin 8 area to promote the event, and a pocket-sized leaflet was distributed to tease the scent ahead of the festival. The promotional imagery was also featured by Image magazine and RTÉ.
