2023 marked 25 years since the passing of the Good Friday Agreement, a major achievement in conflict resolution both in Ireland and internationally. In order to observe the anniversary of this historic event, Ibec sought to launch a new campaign. This would illustrate the pivotal role that business has played in perpetuating peace and economic development across the whole island.

We worked with Ibec to name this new campaign, which was ultimately called ‘Ibec for Peace and Prosperity’. To bring this to life we developed a new modular identity using a minimal number of geometric shapes which could be used in multiple different formations to create icons, illustrations and patterns. This was to emphasise the ‘man-made’, ‘process-driven’ nature of the Good Friday Agreement and suggest the harmonious nature of an Ireland where communities thrive north and south of the border.

A bird’s eye view style of photography was used to depict the intricate patterns found in the landscapes north and south of the border, echoing the geometry in the overall identity system. This allowed us to avoid clichéd images of business hubs and office blocks and instead illustrate the beauty of a peaceful and harmonious island.
