The Irish Cycling Campaign is a network of 1000+ passionate and knowledgeable cycling advocates across Ireland. They believe cycling is a key solution to many of our society’s challenges – improving public health, protecting the environment, and strengthening the economy. Their challenge to us was to create an identity that would resonate with everyone interested in cycling, regardless of how casual or passionate that relationship may be.
We began by mapping the full spectrum of cycling in Ireland, exploring the needs, motivations, and perceptions of different rider types and we realised that sometimes, the best solution is the simplest one. Through collaborative workshops and creative exploration, we created a single unifying design element that could resonate across this diversity, remain instantly recognisable and work seamlessly across all applications.
This minimalist and modern logo, using the identifiable mark of the wheel, also represents the ever evolving and growing organisation, the various communities it connects and its continuous journey to improve cycling culture nationwide. It was created in both English and as Gaeilge, for static and animated formats.
Our design team created a clean, cohesive and dynamic brand world that could easily be applied across many formats. The team also developed a bold colour palette inspired by the landscape of Ireland with a contemporary twist and a welcoming photography approach that allows the organisation to stand out from the crowd and show up in a much more exciting way across social and traditional media platforms. Our team also developed a unique tone of voice for the brand which is familiar and casual and perhaps unexpectedly humorous for the not for profit category.
