The remote revolution has not only changed how we work but also how we learn. Formerly the Irish Institute of Training and Development (IITD), we rebranded the organisation to the Learning & Development Institute (L&DI) to coincide with their new remit and vision. No longer about training, L&DI is the only dedicated institute in Ireland for Learning & Development professionals.

Working with the senior management team and engaging via one-to-one interviews with the membership, board and industry peers, we agreed their new name, brand positioning and narrative. The line “Because Learning Matters” became their guiding mantra and reason for being. Their ethos is all about fostering a community where L&D professionals can engage with and learn from their peers. Foster, Engage, Learn.

The overall identity system is colourful and playful in tone, based around the concept of upward movements conveying an approach of continuous growth and improvement with the logo itself becoming the building blocks of learning, highlighting the ampersand in the graphic brand language.

As part of their launch at their annual conference to 500 members at Croke Park we designed and produced key communication pieces such as a launch video, screen animations and gifts for all attendees, as a form of induction of the new brand to members.

L&DI conducted its own Vox pop research with members on the new branding, with an overwhelmingly positive reaction. The rebrand has seen increased membership uptake for 2023, and a greater share of voice, particularly on social media.
