Making In is an annual gathering of makers hosted by Joseph Walsh Studios in Fartha, County Cork. Initiated in 2017, Making In has established itself as a focal point for a global movement of like-minded individuals who believe in sharing the skills and knowledge of craftsmanship — across disciplines and generations.

We created a new identity for Making In ahead of the 2023 event. We designed a dynamic mark constructed of diagonal and vertical lines with thickened elements at the ends suggestive of marks made by pen and ink. Paired with crafted serif typography and a black-and-white colour palette, the identity is intentionally understated to allow the contributors and their work to have the spotlight. This was evidenced in promotional social posts before the event and a printed programme for attendees.

The new website echoes the feeling of the gathering itself — mindfully bringing together people, process and place — while showcasing the breadth of past makers and their work that have contributed to Making In since 2017.
