MARÉIRE

MARÉIRE is a new project that advances and leads research, policy, and advocacy efforts on marine biodiversity and offshore renewable energy—providing expert, scientific, and evidence-based information, guidance, and advice to Irish NGOs. Run by the Irish Environmental Network and partnered with the Irish Whale and Dolphin Group and Bird Watch Ireland, the project aims to ensure that environmental protection remains at the forefront of decision-making, policy, and planning during the rollout of offshore renewable energy infrastructure. 

During the strategy process, we uncovered that MARÉIRE aims to strike a balance between protecting marine biodiversity and mitigating the climate crisis and seeks to be a unifying voice for Irish NGOs working in and around the offshore renewable energy sector.

To develop a mark that reflects this positioning, we created a series of cascading, symmetrical waves that form the ‘M’ motif. The logo is completed by pairing the motif with the MARÉIRE wordmark set in Tenon—Signal Type’s beautiful geometric, sans-serif.
