Background:

‘Mayonnaising’ is the brain child of Margaret (Mag) Kirwan, the woman at the helm of Goatsbridge Trout Farm. The venture started out when Mag encountered Kilkenny based wasabi growers Beotanics. It occurred to her that a wasabi mayonnaise would be the perfect accompaniment to her trout products, and even better that the wasabi is Irish, the perfect pairing of home grown Irish food.

Approach:

We have worked with Mag for almost a decade on various projects for Goatsbridge, and we can say with absolute certainty that there is no one on this planet more enthusiastic than Mag with a new idea. We wanted to capture this energy in the packaging design. We came up with the name ‘Mayonnaising’ and rendered it at scale on pack. The letters that make up ‘mayo’ fill the front of pack and are foiled for added impact, ‘Mayonnaising’ can be read by rotating the pack. We have always used vibrant colours in the Goatsbridge brand, and the same is true of the mayonnaise packaging. Colours reflect the flavours - in addition to the wasabi mayo, she released beetroot and cranberry variants.
