Open House Dublin (2023)

2023 marked our fifth time working on the design for the festival and alongside new IAF Director, Emmett Scanlon, a new photography led direction was chosen to celebrate the people of Dublin. 

We commissioned photographer Johnny Savage to capture people with a connection to the city and who represent the diverse audience the festival welcomes. The friendly portraits encourage people to see Open House Dublin as a festival for them. 

Johnny’s photos are juxtaposed with images of renowned Dublin buildings and urban interventions, emphasising that woven together, the people of a place and the built environment create the urban fabric of a city. In the midst of all this, it was still important to us that the brand shone through, so we added colour and texture to all communications by integrating the familiar colour palette and graphic patterns. 

As always, we applied the new look to extensive digital and print communications including the website, social media assets, on street & print advertising, venue dressing, postcards and festival merchandise.
