Designed by Joe Lane at Limerick School of Art & Design
Curator & Organiser: Sercan Sahin
The exhibition PrintEd. Here showcased contemporary prints that were produced in 3 different geographical locations: the USA, Ireland, and Turkey. The exhibition brought together a total of 97 artists who teach and study printmaking and graphic arts in different Universities, Art Colleges and Art Departments and live in 20 diverse cities.
The exhibition provided a valuable opportunity for viewers to explore the broad range of artistic languages used by artists when making prints. These prints become significant teaching tools for print educators who attempt to make printmaking a pertinent contemporary artistic practice.
The curators for the exhibition were: Sercan Sahin from the Limerick School of Art & Design, LIT, Ireland; Bircan Ak from Marmara University, Istanbul, Turkey; Melanie Yazzie from the University of Colorado, Boulder, USA; and Richard Finch from Illinois State University, Normal, USA.
The exhibition was held in the Limerick School Art & Design in April 2013 and the posters and catalogue were displayed in the USA, Ireland and Turkey simultaneously.
