Rainbows Ireland Teen Support Programme

Rainbows Ireland is a free, voluntary service for children experiencing loss following bereavement and parental separation.

It provides group support for children and young people throughout Ireland through a series of tailored programmes. They approached us to work on their programme for teenagers dealing with issues relating to bereavement or parental separation.

Helping young people to understand their loss can be challenging, so the programme is broken into a series of workshops with written and verbal activities. We designed it in a journal style and worked closely with illustrator Aoife Dooley to create a suite of illustrations to help articulate different emotions.

The addition of vibrant colours and illustrated lettering also helps to strike the right balance between accessibility and sensitivity.
