We have a long standing relationship with the Temple Bar and it’s proprietor Tom Cleary and are always behind any new innovations he comes up with. Tom’s Whiskey Sommelier and Argentine native, Roberto Appendino, had told him all about Argentina’s renowned winemaking heritage and especially his admiration of the Bodegas Bianchi vinery. Tom hand-selected a range of some very special Single Malt Irish Whiskey from the pub’s cellar, which he then finished in hand-chosen Bianchi Argentinian Malbec casks.

In keeping with the theme of co-operation. we wanted to capture this exceptional whiskey in a unique and distinctive way. The eye-catching packaging design was created by us and illustrated in collaboration with renowned fileteado artist, Alfredo Genovese from Buenos Aires. The overarching idea was to create a design that captured the excitement of Buenos Aires in a contemporary identity, without losing brand recognition within the existing Temple Bar Whiskey Collection. The vibrant yellow is a nod to the ‘Sun of May’ ceremonial flag of Argentina with a rich green background in acknowledgment of its Irish provenance. The birds were inspired by the richly illuminated Book of Kells and influenced by the ornate wrought-iron lampposts which are quintessentially Dublin and can be seen in the circular design of the presentation tin closure.

This latest addition to the celebrated Temple Bar Single Malt range is a world-first for Irish whiskey and an inspired collaboration of these two family-owned businesses.
