Unknown Knowns

The title of this exhibition, Unknown Knowns is taken from a term used by the philosopher Slavoj Žižek when he refers to the "unconscious beliefs and prejudices that determine how we perceive reality and intervene in it". The work in this exhibition addressed the theme of unconscious knowledge, so things you know yet choose not to consciously acknowledge. The cover is a reflection of that concept, the full title graphic is under a thin sheet of paper (so it can still almost be read) which reflects our conscious mind and the subconscious beneath.

Amharc Fhine Gall is an annual exhibition presented by the Fingal Arts Office. The exhibition reflects the creative output of some of Fingal's most promising artists. The focus is on local, recent arts graduates.
