The ‘We are the makers’ campaign was developed to shift people’s perception of Further Education and Training (FET) and position it as a first choice for school leavers. FET offers a wide variety of life-long education options to anyone over 16 and includes apprenticeships, traineeships, Post Leaving Certificate courses (PLC), community and adult education as well as core literacy and numeracy services.
The graphic system was inspired by ancient Irish symbolism, brought to life with bright colours, illustration and photography featuring real FET students at work in their various locations throughout Ireland. By using real students and sharing their personal experiences through interviews, the campaign feels authentic and honest. The bespoke photography used throughout the campaign was created by Al Higgins — an FET graduate.
