Wrong Norma

Wrong Norma is an exhibition at the Nieuwe Instituut Rotterdam, exploring what it means to be a spatial practitioner and researcher in the Netherlands and internationally. The exhibition presents work from eleven researchers, designers and artists graduating from the Master Interior Architecture: Research + Design at the Willem de Kooning Academy. 

The title Wrong Norma is borrowed from a collection of works by poet Anne Carson. Grounded in Carson’s “axis of disobedience”, the exhibition resists fixed design methods or models — exploring interior space not as a boundary, but as an open inquiry.

Behind the grid sits a graph motif, mapping shared and divergent themes across the projects. The identity is anchored by a fluctuating typographic system — changing abruptly and resisting fixation, while remaining coherent across printed matter, wayfinding, outdoor and digital communication.
