Galway’s bid to become European Capital of Culture in 2020 involved a monumental effort over a two year period from both the team and the wider public. We were initially tasked with creating a website which allowed the team to engage and activate the community, but our involvement grew to include branding the campaign and all it’s various outputs – flags, signage, social media, etc.
The aim with the bid book itself was to create something more subdued, showcasing a strong international programme and the authentic, 'ground up’ nature of the bid. Whilst format and page count were prescribed, the quality of materials and austere design, evoke a more serious artistic sensibility and reflect the rugged environment of the West.
